Quality Schools International expanded into Eastern Europe and the former Soviet Union in the early 1990s. Along with schools in Baku and Tbilisi, QSI opened an American curriculum school in Yerevan in 1995. Initially, the school had just two staff members and five students.
In 1999, while finalizing plans for a more permanent home, the school moved to an open office area above a furniture factory. There were only four bright classrooms but room to grow, which the school proceeded to do. Student numbers grew as demand for a quality international education expanded in the country.
One year later, QSI Yerevan reached another important milestone as it earned accreditation through MSA (Middle States Association) from the United States. Now, the quality American-style education earned at QSI Yerevan would be recognized in the same way as any private or public school education in the United States.
